MB CAD and Holo-Light Announce New Sales Partnership
The independent SOLIDWORKS reseller MB CAD from Bruckmühl, Germany, now offers its customers Augmented Reality solutions from Holo-Light. Designers and engineers will benefit from an extended handling of 3D CAD data.
Ismaning/Bruckmühl, September 15, 2020 – The Augmented Reality company Holo-Light and the SOLIDWORKS partner MB CAD are entering a sales partnership in the German-speaking CAD area. The focus will be on the Augmented Reality Engineering Space “ARES”. The AR software enables designers and engineers to visualize and manipulate 3D CAD data as holograms in a real environment and to collaboratively edit them in a virtual session. In addition, Holo-Light´s Stylus XR, a high-precision AR input device in the form of a pen, complements MB CAD’s CAD software solution portfolio. Individual training courses support an efficient implementation of AR and help employees to be even more productive and motivated. Typical areas of application for AR solutions include mechanical and plant engineering, the automotive and process industries, and medical technology. MB CAD advises more than 1,500 customers throughout Germany on all areas of application and uses of SOLIDWORKS.

The application is simply installed on a mobile AR device like the HoloLens 2. With ARES, production plants can be better planned, prototypes can be realized faster and, above all, more economically. Concept evaluations can be made up to 15 months earlier, easily overlooked design errors can be detected early, and on site it can be checked whether planning and reality correspond. The appropriate Augmented Reality software allows the direct user to experience the added value of the technology in his everyday work, Haspinger concluded.
